Charles Dickens’ descendant traverses Philly

Rare books, a pub crawl and a stuffed raven: Ian Dickens, Charles Dickens’ great-great grandson, explored his ancestor’s Philly connection as the Pickwick Club celebrates 45 years.

“I was surprised by the connections. I knew to a degree the connections, but to be taken around museums and The Free Library and to be shown some of the extraordinary collections face to face, with the handwritten (pages) of “The Pickwick Papers,” and a first edition of A Christmas Carol has been incredible,” said Ian Dickens. Continue reading…
