(BCN) -- The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Monday calls for hot conditions across the region with mostly clear and sunny skies. Daytime highs will be mostly in the low 70s to mid 80s on the coast, in the low 80s to mid 90s around the bay, and in the high 90s to low 100s inland.
Overnight lows will be in the low to high 60s.
Forecasters say much of the Bay Area will remain under a Heat Advisory on Monday as temps stay well above normal, with the hottest conditions expected inland. The NWS says Monday's highs will be 15 to 25 degrees above normal, while overnight lows will run 10 to 20 degrees above normal, offering little relief from the heat.
The advisory remains in effect through Wednesday night.
The immediate coastline from Sonoma County south to Santa Cruz County is no longer under the advisory, though coastal areas will still be warmer than normal. Low clouds are expected along the coast, but the marine layer will remain mostly near the shoreline.
The weather service urges residents to drink plenty of fluids, wear lightweight clothing and limit time outdoors. People should never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
