WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) -The New Hanover County Arboretum hosted the 30th annual Art in the Arboretum this weekend, with more than 70 artists showing their work throughout the gardens.
The event gave guests a chance to shop local while visiting one of the area’s most popular outdoor spaces.
Organizers said community support makes the difference for the arboretum.
“People have really turned out to support us and come out and enjoy a beautiful day here in the arboretum, and also everything that people are doing today really supports us and this beloved garden here in our community,” an organizer said.
Organizers said the event helps fund the arboretum and North Carolina Cooperative Extension programs. They said the funding helps keep the grounds free and well-maintained for the community.
The event, now in its third decade, continues to bring together local artists, garden lovers and families.
